Astrid Liebing Brunø, born 1970, has since she graduated The Jutland Art Academy (Det Jyske Kunstakademi) and The Academy of Art in Frankfurt/Main as a guest student, been fascinated by a style of expressive and expansive painting which explores the relationship between inner and outer landscapes, shown through color and texture. She often utilizes nature-references and figuration, such as wild flowers and herbs, both in the large oil paintings and in the smaller gouaches on Japanese paper.
