Unique Works

A painting by Astrid Liebing Brunø is like a living organism, which changes depending on the lighting in the room in which it is displayed. The individual painting is a result of a long painting process in many layers, where different coloristic and artistic elements are continuously tested and developed.

In the final product you can feel both the artists sensitivity within the details and the expressive, dynamic energy felt through the brush strokes.

Her most recent series, FLORA – Inner and Outer Landscapes, takes us on a journey through the almost physical world of texture and color. The series expresses the contrast and the similarities between our inner worlds, and what is found in nature, the physical world. But also, the way our physical world can be perceived differently, depending on who is observing.

In this series she has explored the theme through explosive oil paintings and more delicate gouaches on Japanese paper.
